We sell Wrangler sets that are based on measurements sent to us from customers.

Start Relay or Fuse box connections.

Jeep Wranglers use several different connections from the battery to start relay or fuse box.  Please select the correct fuse box connection when ordering.  Jeep may have built something not shown. If you need a different configuration, please email me.

Early Jeep YJs have a wire that goes from battery to a starter relay under the battery tray with a straight lug.  The alternator wire goes from the battery side of the start relay to the alternator. See picture at left.
1989 YJ is shown.
Later Jeep YJs used a two-hole in-line connection from the battery to fuse box and a straight connection from the alternator. See picture at left.
1994 YJ is shown.

Some early TJ models used a single-hole fuse box with a 90-degree lug coming from battery and straight connector from the alternator.  See picture at left. 1996 TJ is shown.

' />' />Later TJ models used a two-hole “side-by-side” connector with the alternator wire crimped into the connection.  See picture at left, 2002 TJ is shown.

How we build them:

 Our cables are built from cast copper terminals using 2 gauge or optional extra heavy duty (XHD) 1/0 (“one-aught”) SAE SGT battery cable for the starter and engine block ground.  The chassis (body) ground is #6 ga wire.  The fuse block is a #4 gauge.  These are larger than the stock wire to lower resistance and improve cranking.  A high temp SGX wire is optional. We seal the connection with heavy wall adhesive lined heat shrink.  In the picture at left, compare the thickness of the wires.  Note the stock cable doesn’t have any heat shrink sealing the connection.  Anti-corrosion bolts and battery washers are also included.
 All the positive cables come with a starter lug cover to protect against accidental short circuits during oil changes.  Beware of cheap kits that do not include a cover.  Covers for the battery terminal ends are available for an extra $5 each.
 Fuse block cables are a larger wire with heavy duty ends for lower resistance (#4 wire shown).

 

Alternator wires come with a fuse link. The fuse link is a protection device like a circuit breaker.  Beware of cheap kits that do not include fuse link.

 ' />' />The stock 2-hole fuse block connector (Jeep 2002 TJ shown) has the battery cable and the alternator wire ganged together.
  We replace that by separating the wires and putting a heavy duty 90-degree end on each one.   Together, the 2 cables work to replace the goofy Jeep 2 hole connector.

All the Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ cable sets include a positive battery cable with starter lug cover, negative battery cable, an alternator cable with fuse link, anti-corrosion battery washers.

Intended for use on Jeep Wrangler JK with stock 3.6L Pentastar V6 engines.

This is a new product based on stock cables from a 2016 (3.6L Pentastar) provided by a customer.  I've been told the 3.8L EGH V6 used in the 2006-2011 is different.  We have sold several kits and received positive feedback however the design is subject to change.
