a set for the Wrangler that is based on measurements sent to us
from a customer with a 2000 Wrangler. I can't guarantee that
it's correct for your application. Please inspect your
existing cables before ordering. See testimonials at

cables are built from cast copper terminals using 2 gauge or optional
1/0 ("one-aught") SAE SGT or optional SGX (high temp)
battery cable for the starter and engine block ground and #6 or
optional #4 gauge wire for the fuse block or body ground wires.
This is larger than the stock wire to lower resistance and improve
cranking. We seal the connection with heavy wall adhesive
lined heat shrink. In the picture at left, compare the thickness
of the wires. Note the stock cable doesn't have any heat shrink
sealing the connection. Anti-corrosion bolts and battery washers
the positive cables come with a starter lug cover. Covers for the
battery terminal ends are available for an extra $3 each.

The Wrangler cable set includes a positive
battery cable with starter lug cover, negative battery cable,
an alternator cable with fuse link, anti-corrosion battery washers
and anti-corrosion battery terminal bolts. Click on the diagram
at left to see a drawing on the Wrangler cables with dimensions.
If you think the cables would work better
with some modification, please let me know so I can make the change.
The stock 2-hole fuse block connector
(to the left) has the battery cable and the alternator wire ganged
We replace that by separating the wires and
putting a heavy duty 90 degree end on each one. Together,
the 2 cables work to replace the goofy Jeep 2 hole connector.
|Alternator wire ordering information:
There are a few different styles of alternator wires. Please specify
what you need when ordering.
Some customers have told us a longer alternator wire would be a
better fit. I'm not sure if it's a difference in years or
engine type. We now offer a choice between a 26 inch or a 32 inch
Size: Later model jeeps and some high output alternators
need a 5/16 inch lug instead of 1/4 inch.
Bend: Early Wranglers use a straight lug to connect
to fuse block instead of the 90 degree angle end shown in picture
the military (or "Universal") style terminals allows you
to add as many electrical accessories as you want. They also have
the advantage of being able to replace just the terminals and not
the entire cable. The down side is you must make sure that the bolts
remain tight. If you purchase this option the set will come with
heavy duty 3/8 lugs and military style terminals instead of standard

Jeff requested a standard Jeep Wrangler set with and extra 4
inches on starter and engine ground cables. Since we custom
build everything, changes are not a problem. Here is his
unsolicited email unedited:
Good evening Vince. I received the cables yesterday, and I
installed them today. I can't tell you how impressed I am in
your kit. The swap was extremely easy, and I could not be
happier with the quality of the connectors, wire, and overall
build of each cable.
